The Civil Engineer provides technical advice and expertise relating to civil aspects of projects across the agency that may incorporate hydraulic, pavement, geotechnical, and leaching designs. The Civil Engineer is responsible for verifying that technical designs comply with minimum industry standards and codes of practice.

You will be required to review and evaluate the work of other engineering disciplines to verify that civil components of projects adequately interface with contributions from other technical areas. The Civil Engineer will devise efficient work scopes for engineering activities that align with overall project objectives and support the integration of safety, environment, and security in the context of broader design implications. 

The Civil Engineer will provide the agency with technical advice relating to civil aspects of ARWA’s projects not limited to hydraulic, pavement, geotechnical, and leaching design.

Work collaboratively across teams to enhance cohesion, for example, you may be required to:

  • Implement safety concepts into ARWA’s design solutions.
  • Promote a culture of safety and enhance engineering literacy and awareness among staff through knowledge sharing.
  • Review work of other engineering disciplines to verify the components of a project adequately interface with the work of other disciplines.
  • Apply sound engineering principles to solve problems and make recommendations that promote safe outcomes.
