We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Senior Manager to represent Queensland Rail within the Rail Fusion Alliance partnership responsible for delivering the extensive and multifaceted capital expenditure rolling stock upgrade program. In this key role, you will be pivotal in ensuring that project outcomes adhere to the highest standards, while optimising the efficiency, availability, and reliability of our rolling stock assets. 

This is a permanent full-time opportunity located in Maryborough - Queensland.

Overview of key deliverables:

  • Lead Contract Management: Take charge of managing and negotiating commercial contracts, ensuring that Queensland Rail's best interests are captured and advanced throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal Queensland Rail and Alliance stakeholders, ensuring project outcomes meet key performance indicators, and maintain strong relationships to secure support for project deliverables.
  • Accountability and Transparency: Ensure transparency through regular reporting and effective communication with the RFA team and Program Managers.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate program risks, serving as a point of escalation to resolve issues that could impact the broader program of work.
  • Innovate and Improve: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking innovative ways to enhance business performance and value-for-money delivery strategies within Queensland Rail’s governance and safety frameworks.
  • Governance Leadership: Represent Queensland Rail on the RFA Governance Team, contributing to strategic decisions, reviewing performance, and endorsing critical actions that support the attainment of program objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience ideally within Alliance delivery models, with a strong emphasis on leading collaboration and strategic outcomes.
  • Commercial Contract Management Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in managing and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ensuring that contractual obligations are met while maximising business interests and value.
  • Process Improvement Expertise: Experience in leading improvement initiatives, with a focus on budgets, conducting thorough process reviews, and identifying solutions that enhance efficiency and performance on both sides of the Alliance.
  • Project Management Expertise: Deep knowledge of program and project management methodologies, including experience with multidisciplinary projects, budget management, and risk-sharing arrangements, all with a keen understanding of contract implications.
  • Rail Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of rail business operations, enabling effective decision-making in alliance delivery, performance monitoring, contracts and governance.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with senior stakeholders and partners, especially in the context of contract negotiations and management.
  • Governance and Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of relevant policies, legislation, and tools necessary for project delivery in a railway preferably or similar environment.
