Band 6 - Contaminated Land Officer

Randstad is proud to partner with one of Australia’s leading local council organisations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing land contamination issues on closed landfill sites, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and contributing to the remediation of contaminated sites. This role involves conducting site investigations, analysing data, preparing reports, and working closely with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments and environmental risk assessments.
  • Review and interpret soil and other components of the site
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including developers, landowners, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary education in relevant environmental disciplines - i.e. Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management
  • Experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in consulting or similar duties

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
