As Team Leader Construction you will lead a diverse team of Project Managers and Landscape Architects to deliver landscape and streetscape construction projects.
You will also:
Monitor and continually improve Council’s quality of service, cost, time and safety performance on landscape infrastructure project delivery.
Effectively communicate the purpose of works to Stonnington residents and internal stakeholders, address emerging issues raised during the course of design and planning, ensuring that the interests of the public are considered throughout construction.
Supervise and facilitate landscape works, street works and asset planning, providing leadership and guidance to employees to guarantee projects are consistently delivered to a high professional standard.
Assist in the management, tendering and evaluation of services across relevant Council projects, discovering opportunities for growth and improvement.
Develop and improve Landscape Design and Project Management policies and procedures and contribute to new initiatives.
Oversee the successful delivery of the landscape capital works program on time and within budget
This is a permanent full time position with an annual salary range of $105,785 - $117,494 per annum + 11.5 % superannuation and a monthly accrued day off.
We come together at least 3 days a week so we can collaborate in our vibrant office culture. You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.
Desired Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role you have:
Extensive experience and proficiency in the application of landscape and civil principles and practices, together with the skill to implement design solutions and to inspect and supervise construction projects.
Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role, supervising and coordinating technical staff.
Highly developed investigative skills and experience in the preparation and administration of landscape contracts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to gain cooperation from the community, Councillors, trader groups, contractors and consultants to achieve Council’s capital works delivery objectives.
Highly developed project management skills, and demonstrated ability to forecast, manage, administer and control costs on projects.
A good understanding of the construction industry, building regulations, planning regulations and land surveying.
Demonstrated experience and skills in the application of contemporary design and construction techniques.
A relevant tertiary qualification related to construction project management, landscape architecture, civil engineering and/or extensive experience in a related field.
