SA infrastructure development receives federal cash advance
In light of the rapid progress being made on a number of South Australian infrastructure projects, including the electrification of the Gawler Line and construction of the South Road Superway, the Federal Government has announced it will bring forward $196.5 million to maintain the momentum.
Federal Infrastructure and Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said the early payments recognise the efforts of all those associated with the delivery of these projects, most notable the contractors and their workforces as well as the State Government.
“These are not run-of-the-mill projects either. The Superway is the largest, most complex road project ever undertaken in South Australia while the modernisation of the Gawler Line involves the upgrade and electrification of some 43 kilometres of existing track,” said Mr Albanese.
