Leighton Holdings has announced Bruce Munro as the new Managing Director of the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Thiess.

 

Mr Munro, who has been acting in the role since August 2011, has held a number of senior positions within Thiess, including Chief Executive Mining and Executive General Manager Asia, where was responsible for substantial growth in the company’s Indian assets.

 

Leighton’s CEO Hamish Tyrwhitt congratulated Mr Munro’s appointment, describing him as a highly experienced and determined executive.  

 

“Bruce brings with him a strong focus on risk management in the delivery of large projects and he will be an excellent addition to the broader Leighton Group Executive,” Mr Tyrwhitt said.

 

Mr Munro’s 25-year career with Thiess started with his appointment as a Project Manager with the company’s construction business in Indonesia before being appointed Country Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
