Abigroup has been appointed by Main Roads Western Australia to be the Integrated Service Provider (ISP) for the road network of the Goldfields-Esperance region which covers an area of approximately 930,100 square kilometres and has around 2200 km of arterial roads.

The ISP will work together with Main Roads Western Australia in a single collaborative arrangement called the Integrated Service Arrangement (ISA). Worth $95 million, the ISA will deliver a range of capital works and asset management services. Abigroup has been appointed for a five year period which can be extended.

Abigroup’s Western Region General Manager Maurice Dessauvagie said the contract followed the successful completion of the Reid Alexander Interchange and the Geraldton Southern Transport Corridor Stage 2 projects for Main Roads.

The Goldfields-Esperance region is the largest of Western Australia’s regions, stretching from east of Southern Cross to the South Australian border, and south from Esperance up to Wiluna.

Given the vast size of the region there needs to be a high degree of local involvement in the delivery of services and the ISA is currently establishing a pre-qualified database of business suppliers, contractors and service providers that can be called upon to deliver road services.
