Senior Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Major Operations team on an initial 12-month assignment. with our client that specializes in the Mining Industries.

Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Period: 12 months
Location: Perth, WA

Responsibilities:

• Delivering HV & LV electrical designs including detailed design of electrical infrastructure and supporting interfaces.
• Performing discipline-specific engineering services such as:
  • Preparing and overseeing the production of detailed deliverables such as drawings, specifications, scopes of work, calculations, technical reports, datasheets, tender documentation, requisitions, estimates, budgets and schedules for scope variation and technical queries
  • Developing engineering solutions ‘fit for purpose'.
  • Undertaking analyses and recommendations of suitable actions.
  • Undertaking and/or reviewing system studies, protection coordination, arc flash hazard assessments and earthing/lightning design.
  • Packaging deliverables for vendor submissions.
  • Undertaking tender bid evaluations.
  • Providing input and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Where required, prepare or assist in the preparation of project documentation such as budgets, estimates, forecasts, schedules, and reports.
• Participate and input into in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required.
• Proactively seek an understanding of the safety hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed product, plant or structure; be responsible for action and close out where relevant.
• Establish relationship and manage interfacing with installation contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, site team and client. 

What you’ll have:

• An Australian recognised Bachelor qualification in electrical and/or power engineering. (essential) along with functional Safety TUV Certification (desirable).
• Must have substantial experience working at an engineering consultancy (Local experience essential) and working on Resource sector projects along with relevant years in a recent role as a Senior Engineer (essential).
• Been involved in delivery projects (at least one FEED and one detailed design) for a significant period of time (six months).
• Experience across the phases of engineering projects from feasibility/conceptual studies through to detailed design and execution (essential) as well as experience with materials handling systems including conveyors, stockyards, material screening, reclaimers, stackers, etc. (essential).
