Drones drive health boost
Drones are being used to fly blood tests across regional Queensland.
Dave Pugsley, a healthcare worker and drone enthusiast, is leading a trial at Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS), using drones to swiftly transport blood samples from smaller hospitals to the central hub at Kingaroy Hospital.
Funded by the federal government, the trial in Queensland's South Burnett region has significantly reduced testing and analysis time, with the drone completing the journey in just 15 minutes, half the previous time.
The initiative aims to expedite patient treatment by providing quicker diagnoses.
